In this passage of scripture (James 2:14-26), James talks about "justification by works". Is this in conflict with what Paul teaches - that we are saved by grace? The answer is NO! What James teaches is that true saving faith will be evident in a Christian's life - through their obedience to God and their new nature. The works of faith are a demonstration of the justification that we have received by faith.
