After the fall, man operated with an orphan and shame-based mindset - relating to God as being unsafe or distant. Fear, hiding, self-covering and self-reliance became the internal "operating system". But Jesus as the Son of God became our High Priest. Filled with mercy and compassion for the struggles of this life - He opens the door for us to come boldly to the Father's throne of grace. We no longer cover ourselves with fig leaves, or retreat back to Egypt - we hold fast to truth - and we come to Him for His empowering, life-giving grace!
